Are you doing it for Allah — or for the people?

This nasheed is a reminder to every Muslim,
including myself, to check our hearts before
we check our feeds.

We live in a world where everything is shared,
documented and displayed. Good deeds have become
content. Worship has become performance.
Generosity has become a post.

But Allah does not look at your likes.
He looks at your heart.

The deed done in secret, the tear shed in the
dark, the sadaqah given where no camera sees —
these are the deeds that carry weight on the
Day when nothing else will matter.

"Do It For Allah" is a call to purify our
intentions, return to sincerity and remember
who we are truly living and striving for.

May Allah make us of those whose deeds are
pure, whose hearts are clean and whose efforts
are accepted. Ameen. ????

You pray in the front so the people can see,

You give with your right hand for all to believe.

Your words are so beautiful, polished and bright,

But who are you really performing for tonight?

Strip it all back, remove the crowd,

Would you still do it if no one was around?

Would you still rise before the break of dawn,

You post your sadaqah for the world to admire,

You share every good deed to take you higher.

But the deed that is pure is the one that is hidden,

The tear in the dark that no camera has witnessed.

Would you still make dhikr without a voice?

Would you still give if no one said your name?

Would you still serve if there was no acclaim?

Do it for Allah, do it for Allah,

Do it for Allah alone.

The Prophet said the first to be judged,

Are those whose deeds were done for show.

The scholar, the martyr, the generous one —

If not for Allah, they will have nothing to show.

So check your heart before you act,

Ask yourself — who is this really for?

Let your intention be your foundation,

And Allah will open every door.

When you help someone, let it go unseen,

When you forgive, don't make it a scene.

When you stand in the night and nobody knows,

That is the deed that truly grows.

Do it for Allah, do it for Allah,

Not for the likes, not for the praise,

Not for the followers, not for the fame.

Do it for Allah, do it for Allah,

When no one is watching, He sees it all,

Do it for Allah alone.

Purify your heart, purify your deeds,

Allah knows everything that your soul conceals.

Do it when no one will ever know,

Do it for Allah — and watch your soul grow.
